High
on the side of a Derbyshire hill, surrounded by picturesque
countryside, sits Catered Cottage. This beautiful stone cottage
could be your personal hotel to bring friends and family, and from the
moment you arrive, Susan will cook for you and generally pamper you.
Susan
Nutbeam, who runs Catered Cottage, has always enjoyed cooking
and entertaining. She began to get the idea when she noticed the
expression “Hotel Nutbeam” appeared to have slipped into common
use.
“There are lots of holiday cottages in Derbyshire, some good, some
not, but the self-catering holiday is not as relaxing as it sounds –
totally impossible for a short break. Between finding your way to the
shops and cooking there just isn’t the time to enjoy why you are there!"

All
food is cooked at the cottage from
scratch using the best ingredients available at the time.
Catered
Cottage, which sleeps up to 6 adults, is the
perfect solution for people who want to escape to
the country and don't want the formality of hotels
and shared guesthouses - home
without hassle - a place they can make their own and
chill for the
weekend.
For
the perfect weekend you need a little country pursuit, somebody else
to do the shopping, cleaning, and delight the palette with home
cooked, well presented, dinner-party-style evening meals, and enjoy
the time to read the Sunday’s and chat with friends, in a relaxed
homely, atmosphere.
“I
wondered how to make this combination available, then, while touring
in South Africa I came across private residences opened to tourists.
Some of these homes were very beautiful, relaxed and comfortable, and
still managed to maintain that special family atmosphere.”
The
whole idea, still in “soft focus”, Susan felt it had to be put to
the test. Being a keen skier as well as keen cook, she decided to find
out more and went to work as a chalet host for a ski holiday company.
During those 5 months guests came and went. It proved to be the ideal
situation for Susan to test her culinary skills, and with such a
variety of guests, enabled her to perfect recipes from around the
world. On her return
Susan put her idea into practice and Catered Cottage was
launched.
During
summer you will be invited to eat alfresco on the terrace
overlooking the garden and stunning valley below. On winter evenings
enjoy a candlelit dinner and the comfort of the wood-burning stove.
Catered Cottage is a special blend of British and international
food, relaxed living, a homely atmosphere, and real countryside - an
ideal break whatever the season.
